
Meldy Wilton
Meldy’s work has been influenced by many things in her life such as training from Canadian writers along with her Mother, artist, poet and lyricist. Intertwined in her writing are issues of human rights, preservation of historic places and the animals that inhabit them. Her twin boys that were always up for an adventure, are an influence of the adventures and joys of childhood shared in her children’s books. Meldy has won awards for Art, Writing (Poetry, storytelling and Playwright) and Directing.
Some of the pieces to her credit are “At Wilton’s General Store” (historical play); The Wonderful Bobby April (award winning play); she was early on a winner of children’s poetry with her poem “What is Life?” at age 12. Also she had created “Inspiration of Colliery Dams”, Poetry & short story book inspired by preservation of historic areas. She has many public storytelling presentations; poetry presentations; Play presentations and workshops on Writing, organizing and creating are to her credit. The newest book is illustrated by her husband, Richard P. Broad. Children’s book: “Adventures of Chris & Raymond – The Zombie Sleepover”, is the first in a series , being Launched October 30 2021
